WATERFORD — Charter Oak Credit Union has announced that Thomas J. Curtin has joined its Retirement and Investment Services team as a financial adviser. Curtin has held senior management positions in the asset management and life insurance businesses and also has 15 years of experience as a bond trader, portfolio manager and operations specialist. Most recently he was based at Westfield Bank in West Springfield, Mass., and before that was vice president of institutional sales at Wellesley Asset Management, Wellesley, Mass.

The credit union said that Charter Oak Retirement and Investment Services has experienced strong growth over the past several years and its staff now includes two financial advisers and a vice president of wealth management. The service offers a broad range of investment and insurance products and services, as well as financial and retirement planning.

Curtin graduated from Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree in finance, and is credentialed in retirement planning, securities, and insurance. “My primary objective is helping clients reach their retirement goals,” Curtin said.
